Having operated a small plastic molding department for rolls and pointers for bimetallic spiral springs since the 1970s, wound spiral springs are overmolded with an inner hub made of plastic for the first time. Combined metal and plastic parts like this are becoming increasingly interesting at all interfaces between electronics and mechanics in the automotive industry. The plastic composite parts segment comes into being.
